 For those of you who may not have seen this announcement. I
have not used VCON products however the idea of SIP and
H.323 in one endpoint  is interesting to me.

Dear ViDeNet member,

We have been working with VCON and I know many of you have also, encouraging them to make their vPoint soft endpoint available as a standalone product. All that work has paid off and VCON is now making the vPoint client available for purchase online.

This is a very high quality soft endpoint and works with a standard USB camera and headset. This is particularly handy for folks who switch back and forth between SIP and H.323. VCON sells it as software only or with a USB camera and headset.

I have used a beta copy of this software for the last 6 months as my primary personal endpoint. It works well with Ridgeway. Many of you saw it at the ViDe workshop in Atlanta this spring. I have not yet tried the production release. My understanding is that it comes with (and requires) a USB dongle for license verification. That is unfortunate as it requires an additional USB port. Perhaps if there is sufficient interest from this community that feature will be dropped.
