My memory is really fuzzy, but when we first rolled out multicast on our
network, IIRC we had 2 competing methods of distributing the RP - Anycast RP
and BSR. Since they were both configured, very regularly (can't remember the
interval) streams would drop as the multicast tree was recalculated even
though the RP actually didn't change.

We ended up just going with statically-defined RP addresses everywhere.

Again, I may not be remembering all of this 100% correctly. It was 10+ years
ago. :)
