I am now sending a VLC UDP stream on 233.73.103.151 port 1234 with VLC version 0.8.6h. Can’t remember if this was a “solid” version, but at least wireshark is reporting the correct TTL=32.

 

Do let me know if you can’t see it.

OK – so I owe dinner and several libations of choice to several people…  J

 

Has anyone noticed that the latest VLC version (1.0.5 and maybe others) appears to set TTL = 1 on UDP streams no matter what you set it to in the GUI? Anyone else out there come across this problem and knows the best workaround? Just did a wireshark on the stream and every frame has ttl=1 even though I set it to 32.
