Hello;

I have been experimenting with putting all of our H.264 channels out
as multicasts. Right now there is a 1000 Kbps (1 Mbps) and a
2000 Kbps (2 Mbps) simulcast of the "HDVariety" Channel being
multicast. The SAP files are out there, the SDPs are at

and there are Quicktime mov files at

Now, I can look at either bitrate with VLC, but the 2 Mbps never
opens with Quicktime. The 1 Mbps does fine, the two Mbps never connects.

Here are the observed facts from here

QT will play both 1 and 2 Mbps just fine using unicast
VLC will play both 1 and 2 Mbps just fine using unicast or multicast.
It has a tendency to freeze at 2 Mbps.

QT will play the 1 Mbps just fine using multicast, but not the 1 Mbps

Does anyone else have experience with higher bit-rates and mmulticast
on QT ?
If anyone can get the 2 Mbps multicast stream to work, I would like to
hear of it. It may be that my
laptop is not powerful enough, but it plays the 2 Mbps unicast.

I would like more information before I make a bug report to Apple.
