helpful to have a pros/cons discussion on application level multicast (p2p multicast) vs IP multicast in relationship to impact on Internet2 Network, RON networks, campus networks.

The target outcomes of this discussion include some take home points on what application level multicast (p2p multicast) is, what pros/cons of application level multicast (p2p multicast) and IP multicast are, and how the advanced networking community deal with these applications that already exist on campus or will soon impact our networks.

Please suggest topics for the Multicast BoF which is tentatively
scheduled for lunch on Wednesday 10/10. There are some relevant
sessions preceding the BoF which should generate some discussion
as
well, such as:

"Convergence, Collaboration, and Connectivity: Creating a new
paradigm
of experiential learning through technology, intermediality,
and the art
of theatre. / The Philadelphia Orchestra Internet2 Concert
Series" on
Tuesday 8:45-10:00

"Medical Education of the Future using Advanced Networks and
Today's
Technology" on Tuesday 1:15-2:30

"IP Contribution Networks for IPTV Systems /IPTV Update / The
University
of Sao Paulo: Experimental IPTV" on Tuesday 1:15-2:30

"Multicast High Definition Production and Workflow" on Tuesday
4:30-5:30

"Cultivating an Artistic University Internet Collective" on
Tuesday
4:30-5:30

There may be others -- please chime in. I just gleaned the
above from
the posted program.

Thanks.
