Hello;
There seems to be some sort of MSDP problem out there this morning.
Symptom 1 - The RTCP beacon. There ius a new multicast beacon in testing,
written by Mitch Kutzko. The view from here of the beacon status is given by
http://www.on-the-i.tv/beacon/beacon_loss.html
You will note that there are a number of beacons for which there are only
SSRC.
This is beacuse we are not receiving the multicats hhere at multicasttech, but
we are
receiving reports from other beacon sites that doe see these sites. This
situation started at 6:10 AM this morning. (I archive the beacon reports.)
The list before 6:10 AM EDT

The list now.

So, we know that
1.) There are sites up
2.) Other sites that we can see can see them, but we cannot
3.) We still haev MBGP routes for these sites.
Symptom 2.)
If you look at the multicast status page -
http://www.multicasttech.com/status/
Figure 5
you will see that the number of groups with SA's dropped, between 6:00 AM and
8:00 AM, from 1279 to 753.
So, combining all this info, I conclude that something in Abilene or I2
is dropping MSDP SA's.
