We've used 2 and it's worked well.  We currently only have 2 RP's but will 
probably be adding two more.  As long as you allocate your anycast IP 
efficiently, it won't change often (ever), so I didn't really see a need to 
use RP discovery protocols.  It's worked pretty well.
