I would look in my router logs for RPF failures.
MSDP RPF failures IMHO are the most common cause
of mysterious multicast problems.
We have had audience at columbia, and I have seen multicasts
from there, so it _can_ work.
This is, as usual, a case where having an NLANR beacon would
help : http://beaconserver.accessgrid.org:9999/ .
