Hi Lucy,

I was looking the url  you sent and I have a comment about the note 
"Announcements are checked for content before posting, so expect some delay 
before your event shows up in the calendar!", I think that limit the 
posibility to annonuce with some previous days an event, for example we 
(REUNA) are organizing an I2 event in April here in Chile. which will be 
multicasted also and I think this could be a good place to publish it but it 
would be quite interesting to have the announcement some weeks before so 
someone will have the chance to schedule it.

You have three options for getting anouncements:

1] bookmark the calendar or link it to your site
2] bookmark the archive
3] join the list (announcements only)

and you have two options for creating an event:

1] fill out the form (preferred)
2] send a press relaese to the list address
   
()

both of these involve a human (me) intervening before an
event is pushed to the list/calendar/any other lists - so
expect delays.
