With the recent MSDP storms from RAMEN, I've seen discussion on this email
list and others about disabling MSDP for the time being.
Please remember that an BGP NLRI=Multicast advertisement is a statement of
reachability.
If you turn off your MSDP session with a peer or upstream network, but
don't turn off BGP NLRI=Multicast route advertisements at the same time,
you are advertising reachability that does not exist.
This is the multicast equivalent of making a unicast black-hole-style false
announcement. Obviously a Bad Thing(tm).
