hi, Gordon!
Matt Davy will undoubtedly add more detail, but i'll give a quick early
response: Matt's brought up peering with several of the folks at the
MIX and is working on more; the big problem is that it doesn't do us
any good until that router is reachable from our network (currently we
can only reach it via I1, through one of those peers and then the MIX
LAN). one big step forward was made yesterday-today when the OC12 between
Sunnyvale and Ames was completed and the Abilene MIX router became reachable
from the new Abilene Sunnyvale router. the OC12 from Sacramento to
Sunnyvale is also installed, but waiting for Qwest to fix a SONET problem
at Sunnyvale. once that's fixed we'll have real, routed end-to-end from
Abilene to the MIX-gsr! should just be a matter of "any day now".
