Subject: Save the Date! U.S. UCAN Workshop/Retreat October 23-24 2017 in Nashville

 

All,

 

Based upon the poll earlier this month, we’re happy to announce we’ll be convening as a community in Nashville, TN at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on Monday October 23 – Tues October 24^th for our workshop/retreat.  The plan is for folks to fly in on Monday in time for an evening social and we’ll have our working meeting from 8:30am-4pm on Tuesday the 24^th.   We’re securing a $239/night hotel block rate at the Marriott Courtyard Nashville Downtown for Monday and Tuesday night.  Additional details on how to register for this special rate will be coming in the next few weeks. 

 

Here are a few initial thoughts on a draft agenda:

 

+  Muse site content development

+  measuring CAI network performance at scale


+  strategies for engaging museums, science centers, zoos, and other informal education centers


+  increasing value to various sectors through US UCAN/Internet2 connection/community


+  community feedback/input on strategic direction for US UCAN


+  community feedback/input on potential US UCAN cloud services opportunities

+  R&E network community collaboration and best practices sharing

 

We’ll also be standing up a working group to finalize the agenda for the meeting.  If you haven’t already, let us know if you’d like to be part of that planning group.
