The Embedded Discovery Service is, as its name suggests, a Discovery
Service which means that it wants to respond to the Discovery Service
Protocol[1].  If you the app to also render when you just make a normal
GET (no discovery service protocol parameters) request to the page you
also need to set the defaultReturn[2] config option.
