A beta of the embedded discovery service (EDS) is now ready for testing. 
 You can find the documentation here[1].  Please read the Beta Tester's 
Guide for information on what we'd like people to test and how to 
provide feedback.

The general idea of the EDS is to be a discovery service that can be 
co-located with the Shibboleth SP (and thus the service being protected) 
and branded to fit in to the service's site.  This then eliminates one 
3rd party site (the centralized DS) from the user's interaction with the 
service.  For a complete picture of where we're doing please read these 
docs[2].

Also, as some of you may note, the EDS documentation and download site 
are sitting on our new infrastructure.  See my next note to the dev list 
for a request to provide some feedback about it.
