There are a couple of issues here.

First, it turns out to be quite easy
to resolve attributes at the login servlet and use those attributes
to set the AUTHENTICATION_METHOD_KEY attrubute  -- to, say,
'http://incommonfederation.org/assurance/silver'.  That attribute
goes into the authentication context class reference.


Second, how would this be configured?  One way might be to add
an attribute to the servlet's handler.xml configuration that
specified a resolved attribute name that, if present, identified
the authentication class reference.
