The conventional wisdom is that the mere existence of an extension to do
attribute exchange doesn't mean that very many, if any, large sites
deploying OpenID are looking at it.
If that's not so, chalk it up to misinformation (by my score, that makes it
about 863-10 in favor of OpenID being wrong about SAML).

No. But it does mean:
- not a point to point use of OpenID where SAML could have been used just as
easily
- an extensible attribute model, not just name and email
