I'm seeing this when I try to build beat2 of opensaml.
(In samlsign) (this in linux)

What's the compiler version? Has to be 3.1 or 3.2, I think.

It is

g++ (GCC) 3.2.3 20030502 (Red Hat Linux 3.2.3-58)

I'll check the other issues tomorrow.

It appears to me that the test was done wrongly in xmltooling. This might be
overlooked if you aren't building the unit tests, because nothing in the
xmltooling build would actually link an exe and verify that nothing was
missing, so it wouldn't break until this step.

That appears to be a case where the STL test succeeded and the xmltooling
code was compiled with HAVE_GOOD_STL but in fact the test should not have
succeeded (those are the missing fucntions that libstdc++ isn't supplying).

You're welcome to add the test back in and try building it again, but if
that changes something, it's masking a bigger problem that needs to be
fixed, that's why I'm pushing back.
