Hmm, okay. I'll have to give that a try. Not sure if they will work as is on an x86_64 RHEL4 build. Depends on what libraries they use and where they look for those libraries. I'll let you know more as I find out.
Without that, I get:
RPM build errors:
File not found: /var/tmp/shibboleth-1.3-root/var/log/shibboleth
I guess I need more context. Nothing would ever look for that directory
until the software is installed, that I know of.

Well, doing rpmbuild -ba on the shibboleth.spec file would end up failing at that point. I think its choking on the %dir /var/log/shibboleth directive because its not seeing such a directory under the build root. The mkdir statement I added made it happy in that respect.
