A data point below regarding apache versions.  The target install doc does
say "1.3.26+", where I spose the optimistic person might hope that it
means 2.0 > 1.3.26.  I told it works on RH8.0 with source-built apache
1.3.27.

Along this line, someone from another univ told us pubcookie-ites
yesterday that they'd have trouble rolling out pubcookie campus-wide
unless it supports apache 2.0 "soon", which for any normal definition of
"soon" it won't.  Wouldn't surprise me if we start getting pushback for
shib too by summer.

I started by using red hat 8.0 and apache 2.0, seems like that is a
mistake, everything looks good until I try to stick the shib stuff into
the httpd.conf file, ap_null_cleanup is undefined, which a bit of
searching reveals is a common problem for those trying to link 1.3 stuff
into a 2.0 sever.  I think I should go back to apache 1.3, do you think I
need to go back on the red hat too.
