You can use cvs from any machine that has the cvs client and ssh.  You 
want to do something like:


export CVS_RSH=ssh
cvs -z3 -d:ext::/home/cvs/shibboleth co 
shibboleth

> 1- It is kind of hard to work on shib2 and work with cvs on shib1.  Is
