Howdy all - For our upcoming workshop this weekend before the CENIC meeting:
http://ucsd-prp.gitlab.io/lajolla2019/
We are using CentOS Linux release 7.6.1810 and installing the
perfsonar-testpoint bundle. Following the published instructions for
this bundle install here:
http://docs.perfsonar.net/install_centos.html
We end up installing:
http://software.internet2.edu/rpms/el7/x86_64/main/RPMS/perfSONAR-repo-0.8-1.noarch.rpm
And, this results in the following package versions being installed:
''Installed Packages
perfsonar-common.noarch 4.0.2.3-1.el7.centos @perfsonar
perfsonar-lsregistrationdaemon.noarch 4.0.2.2-1.el7 @perfsonar
perfsonar-meshconfig-agent.noarch 4.0.2.1-1.el7.centos @perfsonar
perfsonar-meshconfig-shared.noarch 4.0.2.1-1.el7.centos @perfsonar
perfsonar-oppd-bwctl.noarch 4.0-1.el7.centos @perfsonar
perfsonar-oppd-owamp.noarch 4.0-1.el7.centos @perfsonar
perfsonar-oppd-server.noarch 4.0-1.el7.centos @perfsonar
perfsonar-oppd-shared.noarch 4.0-1.el7.centos @perfsonar
perfsonar-testpoint.noarch 4.0.2.3-1.el7.centos @perfsonar
perfsonar-toolkit-install.noarch 4.0.2.5-1.el7 @perfsonar
perfsonar-toolkit-library.noarch 4.0.2.5-1.el7 @perfsonar
perfsonar-toolkit-ntp.noarch 4.0.2.5-1.el7 @perfsonar
perfsonar-toolkit-security.noarch 4.0.2.5-1.el7 @perfsonar
perfsonar-toolkit-servicewatcher.noarch 4.0.2.5-1.el7 @perfsonar
perfsonar-toolkit-sysctl.noarch 4.0.2.5-1.el7 @perfsonar
perfsonar-toolkit-systemenv-testpoint.noarch 4.0.2.5-1.el7 @perfsonar
perfsonar-tools.noarch 4.0.2.3-1.el7.centos @perfsonar
However, going to:
http://software.internet2.edu/rpms/el7/x86_64/main/RPMS/
we can see that there is a perfSONAR-repo-0.9-1.noarch.rpm RPM. If we
choose to install this, then our installed package versions are:
'''Installed Packages
perfSONAR-repo.noarch 0.9-1 installed
perfsonar-common.noarch 4.1.6-1.el7 @perfSONAR
perfsonar-lsregistrationdaemon.noarch 4.1.6-1.el7 @perfSONAR
perfsonar-psconfig-pscheduler.noarch 4.1.6-1.el7 @perfSONAR
perfsonar-psconfig-pscheduler-devel.noarch 4.1.6-1.el7 @perfSONAR
perfsonar-psconfig-utils.noarch 4.1.6-1.el7 @perfSONAR
perfsonar-testpoint.noarch 4.1.6-1.el7 @perfSONAR
perfsonar-toolkit-install.noarch 4.1.6-1.el7 @perfSONAR
perfsonar-toolkit-library.noarch 4.1.6-1.el7 @perfSONAR
perfsonar-toolkit-ntp.noarch 4.1.6-1.el7 @perfSONAR
perfsonar-toolkit-security.noarch 4.1.6-1.el7 @perfSONAR
perfsonar-toolkit-servicewatcher.noarch 4.1.6-1.el7 @perfSONAR
perfsonar-toolkit-sysctl.noarch 4.1.6-1.el7 @perfSONAR
perfsonar-toolkit-systemenv-testpoint.noarch 4.1.6-1.el7 @perfSONAR
perfsonar-tools.noarch 4.1.6-1.el7 @perfSONAR
Unless there is some reason not to use the newer
perfSONAR-repo-0.9-1.noarch.rpm package, this is what we are planning on
using.
Does the page http://docs.perfsonar.net/install_centos.html need to be
updated, or should we be sticking with the:
perfSONAR-repo-0.8-1.noarch.rpm
for some reason?
Thanks for any feedback or tips anyone can offer.
Cheers,
- Hervey Allen
