Hello all,
Recently, some packages where automatically updated on our Perfsonar
boxes while I was sure of having disabled yum autoupdates.
Digging a bit, I found that when updating (manually) the package
perfsonar-toolkit-systemenv-testpoint, a post-install script named
"/usr/lib/perfsonar/scripts/system_environment/testpoint/enable_auto_updates" is run and it reconfigured my systems to perform yum autoupdates. An extract of the script is clear on the subject :
[...]
# Make sure download_updates and apply_updates are on in centos 7
if [ -f "/etc/yum/yum-cron.conf" ]; then
sed -i "s/download_updates = .*/download_updates = yes/g" /etc/yum/yum-cron.
conf
sed -i "s/apply_updates = .*/apply_updates = yes/g" /etc/yum/yum-cron.conf
fi
[...]
=> I think this knob should be left for the system administrator to
decide.
I found one of my Perfsonar boxes hanging following auto-updates,
I think it is better to decide when to apply them and be here to check
that the boxes are still functional after, reboot if necessary.
