This issue is fixed.

This is what I did :

mv /var/lib/cassandra/data/system/local/system-local-jb-418-Data.db /tmp
reboot

On the second box I got problems also with Cassandra but a simple
service restart worked.

=> I believe there are somme operations like compacting tables or
   sth like this are taking place when Cassandra is restarted and if
   one reboots before these operations are over it may trigger issues.

Hi Jean,

Indeed Cassandra db performs housekeeping on its data like  compaction. If something’s happening during this process (e.g. undexpected restart) and it doesn’t work as normal Cassandra will be angry about that.

Good to hear you were able to fix. Not sure though just deleting the file is not going to bring some side effects. Let us know if any.
