perfSONAR User Q&A and Other Discussion

Hi All,

Hope this is the right place to put out this message:

I'm looking into implementing perfsonar in our organization.  I have two hub 
and spoke toplogies at this time, but we're moving more to a mesh topology.

I've done some reading but it appears the installation of the pieces required 
(which Im not entirely sure of) is fairly easy, but it appears that the 
configuration of the pieces is complex.

I have roughly 30 locations, but at this time, I'm working solely in a lab 
environment-- I'm aiming for a server / client model.

I have a VM to do anything with (yes, I know a vm is not a suggested config) 
and it is running Centos 6.  I've installed the perfsonar repo and the 
following packages:
"perfsonar-ui-web"
"perfsonar-meshconfig-jsonbuilder"
"perfsonar-centralmanagement"

I am able to pull up "http://{ipaddress}:8080/perfsonar-ui but it doesn't 
appear I can do much else at this time.

On the client, I have done the following:
I've installed the repo and the following packages:
perfsonar-testpoint

What else do I need to do on the server, and what do I need to install / 
configure on the client?


I hope this is enough info to get us going.
