Hi Ivan, Sorry for not responding – our firewall is allowing the correct rules/exceptions for the new IP and tests do not run on this interface. I am able to choose my secondary interface on the web service, but no results
show up. I cannot ping my default internet gateway, but can ping other local servers. I think I may just have to set up the secondary interface on another subnet. Thanks, Dan From: Garnizov, Ivan (RRZE) [mailto:]
Hi Dan, “. The new interface has an IP on the same subnet as the primary interface, if that matters at all.” Here in the doc
http://docs.perfsonar.net/manage_dual_xface.html#ip-addressing-strategy you will see some extra configuration, which is needed to make the linux system distinguish between the interfaces. Also note that: “ It
is recommended that you assign each interface to a different subnet. ”
{from documentation} Could you also try to setup a bwctl or owamp test from the secondary interface?
Have a look at the running processes and see how (about the options with which) the ping test is executed. This might give us a clue on what is wrong. And of course please make sure that on the external FW you have the correct exceptions/rules for the new IP. On Behalf Of Daniel Manzo Hi all, My current perfSONAR setup is an HP server with 8 GB of RAM and an OS of RHEL 6.8. I installed using the CentOS bundle method with perfsonar-toolkit. My perfSONAR server is behind a firewall, and we have added another network interface
in order to split our tests for bandwidth and latency. After setting up a normal ping test on the new interface via the webpage, I am not seeing any results at all being populated. The new interface has an IP on the same subnet as the primary interface, if
that matters at all. I tried following the instructions on the “Configuring a Host with Multiple Interfaces” page, but it did not work. Any and all help is greatly appreciated. Best regards, Dan Manzo |
