Hi,

Esmond stores what it calls a “statistics” summary of the histogram-owdelay which has a bunch of different metrics commonly referred to as jitter. It has variance, standard deviation, 25th percentile, 75th percentile, and 95th percentile values. I don’t know if psUI uses them but they exist. If you are interested in playing around with json, a couple paragraphs down from where this link lands you is an example of the statistics summary: http://software.es.net/esmond/perfsonar_client_rest.html#querying-delay-one-way-delay. Live example here: http://newy-pt1.es.net:8085/esmond/perfsonar/archive/012f0765684545ca8d77a65ac48941e4/histogram-owdelay/statistics/0?time-range=3600

Thanks,
Andy

Hello,

I have been using perfSONAR with an isolated system for a little while now. I have perfsonar-toolkit v. 3.5.1and perfsonar-ui v. 1.7.1 installed on one of my hosts and have been running some throughput and latency tests on the network. I would like to be able to view and store jitter data along with latency, but as far as I can find, esmond only stores latency test results as histogram data. I believe this is also preventing me from viewing jitter graphs on perfsonar-ui, even though the documentation indicates you should be able to view IPDV. Are jitter measurements something that is supported in esmond? If they are, could you please tell me how to enable these measurements? I’ve spent several days poring over the documentation with no luck.

Thank you,
