Hi,

If you are just trying to configure the IP addresses and hostname for the host, you can just follows the steps for doing so as you would any other Linux system. perfSONAR doesn’t require any special steps in this regard. If you are not familiar with this process, you can run /usr/lib/perfsonar/scripts/nptoolkit-configure.py and select the “Configure Networking” option which will call a tool similar to what you see during the ISO install to configure these settings. Just follow the prompts. Does that answer your question?

Thanks,
Andy

Hi Szymon:

Thank you for your reply.

I believe I installed all the perfsonar bundles, including testpoint, core and toolkit, just not through netinstall or fullinstall.
The reason I did this, is the VM I was using is from other department and a basic centOS 6.7 is pre-installed.

I am wondering now, if the full/net install will have some steps setting up hostname or it is setup automatically.

Thanks.

Hi Andrew:

Thank you for your quick reply.

For the NTP synchronization, you mean it will be synchronized automatically as long as the service is running?
The NTP unsynchronized is shown when I start up the bwctl/owamp service as below.

Yes, you may have to wait a bit after NTP synchronizes properly your host and that's why you got the warning. You may see the results with ntpq -p command.

And from the setting up page below, my understanding is I need to configure hostname (domain) and interface so that I can start web interfaces.

Which bundle did you install? The Web interface is included in perfsonar-toolkit bundle. See http://www.perfsonar.net/about/where-can-it-be-downloaded/
You will not be able to access it if it wasn't installed.

Am I correct on this? Or it is set up as the IP address automatically, or where did I setup such information?
On either case I cannot access the web interface right now.
Also, in my configuration file, I did not see such lines as setting up primary interface, but I guess it will be setup as eth0 at default.

I think it would be much easier for you to start from scratch if possible and simply install perfsonar-toolkit bundle. You should then get everything you expect.

Is there any particular reason you didn't use the full or netinstall option?
