“There isn’t a perfSONAR Website Administrator defined” means that you don’t have a user who is a member of the “psadmin” group.
“There isn’t a perfSONAR sudo user defined” means that you don’t have a user who is a member of the “pssudo” group.

Create a user (like for yourself,  not the “root” user) and add this user to those groups, or if you prefer, create distinct users for each group.

Then, in /etc/ssh/sshd_config, find the “PermitRootLogin” setting and set it to “no”.

You don’t have to do these things, they are just good practice.

Subject: [perfsonar-user] First root login after installed perfsonar toolkit

Greetings,

I have a REHL6.7 box with basic OS already installed.
I referred to documentation site http://docs.perfsonar.net/install_centos.html  to install  perfsonar-toolkit.
After I installed all the required package dependencies (hundreds packages) and finally got the perfsonar-toolkit installed.

However, I tried to login this box and became a root user to process the further configuration, it came with the following message:

ryao@r1prpps01's password:

Last login: Mon May  9 09:26:21 2016 from 10.13.73.107

[ryao@r1prpps01 ~]$ /bin/su -

There isn't a perfSONAR Website Administrator defined.

Enter the user whose account you'd like to add. Just hit enter to exit:

There isn't a perfSONAR sudo user defined. It is recommended that you create a sudo user and disable SSH root login.

WARNING: Be sure you remember the username and password you create with this script as root will no longer be able to login via SSH once this command completes. If you are using SSH as root now, your session should continue until you logout.

Would you like to create a sudo user and disable root SSH? [yes]

My question is : Is it supposed to be? Do I have to create a sudo user and disable root SSH? If not, what happens?

Please advise.

I understand that RHEL is not officially supported; I appreciate very much for your kind support with my installation and configuration issues.

Regards,

Rong
