Since 4-Mar-16, the line
     assign user <username> root
in:
    /etc/bwctl-server/bwctl-server.limits
prevents bwctl-server from starting on ps.sdsc.xsede.org .

The error that comes up when I try to manually start bwctl-server is:

[root@ps]# /etc/init.d/bwctl-server start
/usr/bin/bwctld -c /etc/bwctl-server -R /var/run
bwctld[4434]: FILE=policy.c, LINE=669, Invalid user "<username>".
bwctld[4434]: FILE=policy.c, LINE=967, /etc/bwctl-server/bwctl-server.limits:4 Invalid file syntax
bwctld[4434]: FILE=bwctld.c, LINE=2355, PolicyInit failed. Exiting...
/etc/init.d/bwctl-server start: bwctl-server could not be started

Those same three error lines are repeated hourly in
    /var/log/perfsonar/owamp_bwctl.log
bwctld[4434]: FILE=policy.c, LINE=669, Invalid user "<username>".
bwctld[4434]: FILE=policy.c, LINE=967, /etc/bwctl-server/bwctl-server.limits:4 Invalid file syntax
bwctld[4434]: FILE=bwctld.c, LINE=2355, PolicyInit failed. Exiting...

I don't see an error in the file syntax and it had been working fine for many months (or years).

I've commented out the user line in the bwctl-server.limits file for now to restore operation.

What needs to be done to fix the problem?
