Most of perfSONAR should build and install on OpenWRT, but you may find a 
couple of things that limit how useful it is:

One is CPU speed.  Devices that run OpenWRT tend to be built around SoCs that 
run at 200-450 Mhz, which will be adequate for tests that don’t impose a 
large load.  Those who’ve been experimenting with small nodes have observed 
that even the faster ones (like the Raspberry Pi at 700 Mhz) are unable to 
saturate a GbE port with outbound data or deal with that much inbound.

The other is memory, which isn’t usually plentiful.  Most of the devices I’ve 
ever looked at have tens of megabytes of RAM.  That may be enough to run the 
BWCTL daemon and a test or two, but running the entire toolkit in that kind 
of space would be a stretch.

If you’ve got high-spec devices running OpenWRT, please let us know what they 
are.  We’re always interested in new inexpensive systems.
