I think that probably you already have seen this, but there are architectural monitoring use cases examples available on perfSonar website:

Here we are using the Dual Homed interface (as you want) and we've chosen it because we wouldn't like to experience interferences between OWAMP and BWCTL tests. I think this is the best approach, but perhaps the more experienced users on this list could give us their feedback about that.

We've deployed a mesh config here, with 6 pS spread across Americas, and it's been working very well. We also deployed Maddash to see the results.

I think that there's no best solution, but the solution that fit your needs. I can share more details of our mesh config with you in private if you want, but basically we just followed the steps described in pS docs.

Hello,

 

I had three questions for the group:

 

1.       I have a server that has 2 x 10G and 2x1G ports. I would like to configure 1 x 10G and 1 x 1G for bwctl testing and 1 x 1G for latency. Can anyone see a problem with this? Would my results be affected by the amount of tests I would be doing?

 

2.       I was wondering if anyone had any examples they could share of how they deployed their perfSonar nodes? I had some ideas of how I was thinking of deploying a mesh for production but would like to see how some other sites have perfSonar deployed.

 

3.       Does anyone take any of these results and use them in some sort of managerial summary? If so, how are you doing this? I was just planning on using perfSonar results with Netflow and applying that to a table or graph for a summary.
