Since, historically, many owamp nodes and etc. have had time standards attached -- If you have a CDMA, HF-Radio, GPS disciplined time standard, you should go read up on how to add a leap second to your device, prior to 0:00 GMT 1 July 2015, otherwise your time will be 1 second off OR your stratum 1 server will choose a network source over your time standard. Most of the standards I have seen have a variable that you set for a pending leap second, and the device will add the second at the appropriate time. The message below addresses EndRun Technologies Praecis CDMA products. -------- Forwarded Message --------
This is an important Service Bulletin about your CDMA-Synchronized equipment from EndRun Technologies. You are listed in our database as owning a Praecis product. Please forward this message to the person responsible for operation of this device. Thank you. >>> YOU MUST TAKE ACTION OR YOUR CLOCK MAY BE OFF BY 1 SECOND AFTER JUNE 30, 2015. There is a new leap second insertion scheduled for UTC midnight on June 30, 2015. (Leap second insertions happen about every 3 years.) A leap second is an extra second inserted into UTC time to keep it in alignment with the earth's rotation. If your Praecis uses UTC or Local time, then it may be off by 1 second after June 30. To prevent that from happening, please read the Leap Seconds Bulletin for instructions: http://www.endruntechnologies.com/pdf/LSB150106.pdf If you are interested, see detailed information on leap seconds here: http://www.endruntechnologies.com/leap.htm Best regards, EndRun Technical Support |
