perfSONAR User Q&A and Other Discussion

Hello!

 

In the process of delpying Perfsonar for our research LAN we discovered that we can’t access NDT for Java 8, but we can for java 7.  I believe this is related to the known java issue (http://www.perfsonar.net/about/faq/#Q78 ).  In an effort to solve it I’ve tried updating the NDT version to 3.6.5.2-7 per (https://lists.internet2.edu/sympa/arc/perfsonar-user/2014-12/msg00069.html ) with no luck.  I don’t see a later version for download manually or via yum.  We are currently using 3.6.5.2.  In /var/log/messages I do see enteries(see below) as well.  I have not attempted adjusting file permissions yet as I don’t know what to change them to (as 777 seems like overkill).  I’ve updated the kernel with no change in the issue.

 

Is there something I can update on the the perfsonar box to enable function, or is the answer to wait for a patch?  Thank you in advance,

The end user’s experience is they can go to the http://perfsonar1.research-lan.colostate.edu:7123, start the java applet and wait while it initializes.  Nothing further appears for the user.
