perfSONAR User Q&A and Other Discussion

The perf.net.ohio-state.edu is ran by OSU Central IT. There is another node
you can test to in the OSU Science DMZ at 128.146.162.35, that is running
BWCTL 1.5.2-5 an OWAMP daemons. I would be interested to know if you see the
same asymmetry in the inbound vs outbound traffic.

As Chris said the timeout on that one hop is most likely an ICMP filtering
issue for all external IPs. Running the tracepath from the OSU Science DMZ to
stinger.wvstateu.edu I do not see the same timeout:

Currently there are no perfSONAR nodes directly on the OARnet core. This will
soon be changing though. In the mean time I'll see if I can get something
setup closer to the WVSU edge that you can use for testing. 

If you can work with your contact at WVSU to get bwctl (source code:
http://software.internet2.edu/sources/bwctl/), or a basic iperf client or
server running it may expedite our ability to get some performance numbers.
