perfSONAR User Q&A and Other Discussion

Hi all pS users,

today I'd like to announce a new installation package of Java RRD MA 
which I called 'extra'. Its main goal is installation simplicity.

Main benefits of it:

- no need to install Ant build tool to run the installation procedure 
(already exists in the package)
- no need to download application server and eXist xml database during 
the installation procedure (already exist in the package)
- the installation procedure has much less steps.

I hope this package might be interesting for those who want to test the 
service, see how it works and don't have too much experience with the 
perfsonar. But of course I also encourage to use it all experienced users.

The extra package does not compete with the standard one. The 
installation procedure of the standard package is more advanced (more 
configuration options) and targets mainly (but not only!) perfsonar 
bundle users.

I hope you will like it and find it useful to use (any comments are 
welcome :).

ps.
 1) the size of it is much bigger than the standard one but that's the 
cost of installation simplicity.
 2) this package contains a service candidate for final release 2.3 
which I hope will be soon
