Hello Szymon, all,

Yes, it was a bit of help... Actually I re-installed the perfsonar rrdma 
service (for yet one more time), taking extra care at the exist 
configuration part. There I followed the instructions you sent me 
(altered for rrdma) and finally got the scripts running. I also had to 
add to $CLASSPATH the path to rrdjtool.jar
