Hello all,
Service types as currently being registered into LS can be used , although these may need better subtyping . A service currently is distinguished by its URL, type (MA, MP, etc.) , and supported schemas. IMHO, all this informations needs to be reported somehow.I cannot answer this one for you... :-D
> [SERVICE_TYPE] RESULT.ACTION 'DESCRIPTION'
1) Do we have a common agreement on the SERVICE_TYPEs abbreviations?
If we don't, we need.
What about using existing error codes, which are already defined for each service ? An ACTION toward a service corresponds to a XML request - if not, please correct me. The request might be successfull, or return error code(s).Agreed. Result should be something like: SUCCESS and FAILURE... It is basically a status of the action.
2) RESULT should be fairly straightforward, I guess, but how about ACTION -- I'm afraid I don't understand what is going to be recorded there exactly. To put it another way -- are the ACTIONs going to be fairly standard (in fact: enforced as standard?)
Actions also need to be somehow standard, otherwise becomes harder later to treat it.
Best regards,
Nina
Thanks,
Fausto
