Hi,
I've tested our MA with a standard fedora8 installation with the fedora8
tomcat5 and java icedtea 1.7.0. It works. I know, icedtea quite sucks,
but I just want to make the installation process as easy as possible.
Our installation process is now:
* download nfdump RPM
* download perfsonar-flowma-sa RPM
* rpm -i nfdump-<version>.rpm perfsonar-flowma-sa-<version>.rpm
* edit
/var/lib/tomcat/webapps/flowsa-ma/WEB-INF/classes/perfsonar/conf/service.properties
* /etc/init.d/flowma-nfcapd start
* done
I've created a spec file that creates a fedora8 RPM which can be
installed on the clean fedora8 box which works out-of-the box. It
doesn't install in /home/perfsonar but in the fedora8 tomcat webapps
folder, and it sets all the permissions correctly.
I want to test the RPM a little more before I do a real release for
testing, but if you are interested:
http://gijs.pythonic.nl/perfsonar/fedora8/perfsonar-flowsa-ma-0.9.1-1.noarch.rpm
the spec file can be found here:
https://svn.internet2.edu/svn/perfsonar/trunk/surfnet_java-flowsa-ma/contrib/flow-ma.specs
Using the default java & tomcat makes life so much easier.
Next week I will test this RPM on red hat enterprise, after that I want
to try to create a fedora 8 rrd-ma RPM. Anyone tried this already with
tomcat5 & icedtea?
I know everyone is using tomcat6 already, but there is no distribution
(tried ubuntu 7.10 & 8.04, fc8, centos5, rhel5) that gives possibility
to install this.
