| Hello Michalis,
Hi Michael,
|
| Here at SURFnet we are currently implementing the webadmin. The
| http://anonsvn.internet2.edu/svn/perfsonar/trunk/perfsonar-doc/release-management/perfSONAR-MDM-product-build-guide.doc
| is missing top_slice.gif is missing from the list.
|
Yes you are right, I noticed that when I was installing the RRD MA. I thought I had added it to the build guide, but it must have slipped my mind.
| A few point from less to more important:
|
| - Not all services use the exist db are we expected to edit the html? (to
| remove the links)
Yes, thats correct. This issue was raised also by Candido, I will add a few more lines to the build guide explaining that
| - links are awkward, aleast fix the mouse over. (it looks like there are 3
| links but it's suppose to be one.) Try using
|
| width: Xem;
| word-spacing: Yem;
|
| where Y >= x
|
| to stick every word on a new line
Yes you are right again, I also noticed that. The current version of the main page was not created by me and I thought that the person who created it, maybe had a good reason for doing that. Anyway I'll try your suggestion.
| - might want to keep a link to the happy axis page
I'm not responsible for the content of the web pages, but I'll forward your request to Loukik or Nicolas if Loukik is unavailable.
| - please add the ability to order groups in the wizard.
| This is what our service's configuration looks like:
|
| service.ma.flowsa.exporters=4
| service.ma.flowsa.exporter1.hostname=xsr01.asd001a.surf.net
| service.ma.flowsa.exporter1.port=29001
| service.ma.flowsa.exporter1.description=SURFnet6 Core Router Amsterdam1
| service.ma.flowsa.exporter1.location.latitude=52.212212
| service.ma.flowsa.exporter2.hostname=xsr01.asd002a.surf.net
| service.ma.flowsa.exporter2.port=29003
| service.ma.flowsa.exporter2.description=SURFnet6 Core Router Amsterdam2
| service.ma.flowsa.exporter3.hostname=xsr03.asd001a.surf.net
| service.ma.flowsa.exporter3.port=29002
| service.ma.flowsa.exporter3.description=SURFnet6 Border Router Amsterdam1
| service.ma.flowsa.exporter4.hostname=xsr03.asd002a.surf.net
| service.ma.flowsa.exporter4.port=29004
| service.ma.flowsa.exporter4.description=SURFnet6 Border Router Amsterdam2
|
| So the amount of properties grows as there are more exporters now we
| circumvent the dynamic number of exporters by only provisioning a max
| number of 10(or 5) of exporters and those that need more must edit the
| conf files directly.
|
| I want exporters to be able to fold to keep it manageable (there are
| actually more then 3 properties per router.) So they are all in there own
| group. however goup order seems randomly displaying Exporter 2 Exporter 1
| Exporter 3 and so on making it hard to use. The same holds for the
| serviceAdmin and the randomly ordering, could the order be the same as
| defined?
I see your point there. For the properties configuration servlet we plan to make it more user friendly and allow grouping. In this context we can add group ordering. For the wizard I can extend the wizard properties schema and add group ordering but the main problem I'm facing is time, since my duties in perfSONAR are not limited to webadmin and the final release date is approaching fast.
Thanks a lot for your comments,
Michalis

| ps. The pom is incomplete but so are most of the others.

|
| Hi all,
|
|
| There is a new version of web admin jar with some minor changes. Please
| read the updated product build guide and contact me for any questions.
| Also I would like to ask which services have implemented authentication
| and what actions need to be taken by the user to set up authentication for
| the service.i.e if the user needs to provide some input. If this is the
| case then this actions have to be placed in the web configuration wizard.
|
|
| Best regards,
|
|
