Michalis is talking about integration of the validation into the services directly.
I haven't tested it so far, but our perlSONAR uses LibXML that should be able to do validation against RelaxNG as well.
Correct, I tried this some time ago just to see if it worked:

And it seems to do a good job. There are no current plans to integrate this into 'live' instances, but its nice to know it exists.
