Hi Guys,

I would like to list out the details of the perfSONAR recommended 
Operating System so that if we are doing some benchmarking tests, we can 
say what we tested these on.

==== Recommended ====
For example, I already know that we recommend the following (although 
our development supports other OS which we will come to in the later 
section)
* Red Hat Enterprise Linux version - 4

The extra information that I need is:
* Patched up-to-date

Let me know if you think otherwise.


==== Other ====
For other OS flavors, I would also need more information (although I 
don't see us supplying benchmarks for these. Still, if we are going to 
at least say that pS will install and run on these, it would be helpful 
to come up with a specification so that we can test against these 
specifications)

* FreeBSD
** Version 6.1
** Patched up-to-date for that tree? (if that makes sense)

* Debian
**  Version 3.1
** What about patches?
