I realize this is not a priority, but I would prefer more generic approach,
where NMWG define interfaces instead of classes, and then there could be DOM
based implementation, XOM based implementation, SAX based implementation, you
name it. 

IMHO, DOM is a real problem when the client is receiving huge amount of data.
