Hi all,

Hi all,

I think new eventType is not necessary. All we needed is the update of db schema and xml schema to support more detailed information you are thinking of.

So, the questions goes to Loukik and JRA4 guys

Martin, Jason,

Do you have any thoughts on this? It looks like we need an addition field in the datum (or elsewhere) saying "details".

There are two issues related to adding a "comments"/"details" like field to the NMWG schema used by E2Emon:

- what is the purpose of this field? What goes into it ?
- who is supposed to provide the information and how will the field be populated ? From our experience, most NRENs still have problems to maintain the AdministrativeState field at all.
If the details are not related to the status (operational or administrative), then
we should have a new eventType. If what you're asking for is a text field to
describe why the state is administratively down (for instance) then details
would be appropriate.
The AdministrativeState field already aims at providing additional details (there are several states which can be used).

Before adding a new field to E2Emon, it should be cleared how this can improve the work of E2ECU and the operation of E2E links.

Cheers,

M&M

If the details contain a URL for where to look for a
textual description, then we should add a URL field.

best,
martin
