Hi,

the first candidate (RC1) of Java RRD MA release 1.1 is available here:

Thanks for this first RC Roman!

So my first experiences:

Nice conversation with the script :)
- I started with ant -q pre-install
- I accepted all defaults apart from RRD and Java home location
- I suggest to mention at the beginning that in order to accept default values you must press Enter
- Is it possible that the installation scripts checks whether Tomcat exist in the system (I don't know how :-) before saying " Do you want me to download and install the application server Tomcat for you? (y,n)" ?
- The script tells me to "Make sure that your application server Tomcat has the same port for the http communication. If not then configure the Tomcat in order to use this port number.". But I think it should be described where to check in the installation guide.
- I liked "Please, do it now. I will wait for you." :-)
- Is it possible to check automatically what kind of platform is used instead of asking "Which OS platform do you use: (linux,linux-64bit,freebsd,solaris,other)". It shouldn't be a problem.

And I stoped here with two attempts:
1) [input] Enter the home directory where the rrdtool is installed (I need the home directory and not the directory where the executable binary is present) [/usr/local/rrdtool]:
/usr/local/bin/rrdtool
[exec] cc1: /usr/local/bin/rrdtool/include: Not a directory
[exec] Result: 1
2) [input] Enter the home directory where the rrdtool is installed (I need the home directory and not the directory where the executable binary is present) [/usr/local/rrdtool]:
/usr/local
[exec] cc1: /usr/local/bin/rrdtool/include: Not a directory
[exec] Result: 1

My rrdtool binary is located in /usr/local/bin/ and under /usr/local I have ./include ./lib etc.

What's wrong?
