Hi,
I remember that there was a discussion at Montpellier on naming convention to be used for perfSONAR services. I can't remember what the outcome was and how it applies to the situation below. Can anybody please provide some info?
I came back to this discussion on 21 Nov. Maciej said that after Montpellier meeting we proposed:
" service_name.domain
schema, where:
a) service_name means anything (and should be unique in domain scope)
b) domain is domain name such as "geant.net" or just "geant". I think we
still need some hierarchy of domain names."
umm..I don't know for sure but can propose something like GEANT2-JRA1-pS-x where x is the version number
For the upcoming 1.1 release, we will have a few services put together in a bundle. One such service is the RRD MA. I would like to know how to name this service, what convention to use.
For example, can it be: pS-1.1-RRDTypeMA?
Can the bundle simply be called perfSONAR-1.1?
What if it is not pS bundle but e.g. JRA1 bundle?
Regards,
