Hi Nina and Roman,

from MA point of you we need:

- to know if they want to store data in rrd files (if yes then RRD MA can be used)
- if they want to use relational database to store data we need to know database schema
- to have an example of metadata configuration file with descriptions of their data
- to have examples of request/response for fetching/storing the data (at least fetching)

I'm pretty sure they will need help from Jason or Martin to define needed schema elements for their metadata configuration file and messages.

some times ago I receive this email from Rok working on JRA5.
Do you think it could work?
What would be the step that we and them should go through?

- JRA4 define the data to be exchange and the various parameter
- JRA1 extend the perfSONAR schema
- JRA1 and/or JRA4 extend the RRD or SQL database schema
- JRA1 to update the SQL or RRD MA to accept the new metrics
- JRA4 to export the data from the eduroam servier to the SQL or RRD database
- JRA1 and/or JRA4 to extend perfsonarUI to display the metrics.

Anything else? Any recommendation?
At this stage, I don't have any timeline.

Cheers,
Nicolas

Hello Nicolas!

We had a discussion about using perfSONAR UI for
displaying eduroam server graphs in perfSONAR UI.

We would probably want to graph the following:

For institutional eduroam server:
- number of network logins (0 - inf)
- number of roaming network logins (x some multiplication) (0 - inf)

For proxy eduroam server:
- number of succesfull (Access-Accept) proxied request (0 - inf)
- number of denied (Access-Reject) proxied requests (0 - inf)
- number of passing requests (any requests not in the previous two
groups) (0 - inf)

We are probably interested in storing a measurement on a per hour
basis. A MA would probably store values for an eduroam TLD proxy
server and maybe agregate values for institutional eduroam servers.
Most likely it would be easiest if we could provide data already
in an RRD database...

How does MA store data ? What would be the interface for inserting
the data from eduroam RRD into MA ?

Let me know if I'm making any sense :)).
