Greetings All;

The next CI Eng Lunch & Learn talk will occur Friday March 10th 2023 @ 2pm ET.  The speakers will be

Petya Vasileva & Shawn McKee from the University of Michigan, and they will be talking about “Tools and methods for tracking network issues based on perfSONAR datasets”.  Here is a quick abstract for the talk:

The OSG and WLCG collaborations have been operating a global Research & Education (R&E) network monitoring infrastructure for more than 10 years.  Currently data from over 230 perfSONAR instances are centrally gathered into an Elasticsearch cluster at the University of Chicago.   This rich dataset should be able to provide visibility into our R&E networks and identify various types of network problems as they occur.

We will present our current developments regarding the Alarms&Alerts service running on top of the perfSONAR data. Once generated, the alarms are then processed and visualized by pSDash - a Plotly Dash web tool which helps users track and understand their network issues.   We will share our findings on the unexpectedly dynamic topology we have observed, and present the on-going work and plans for improving the problem detection tools and methods.

N.B. The Zoom number for 2023 remains the same as before, connecting via computer preferred if you want to see materials, etc.  We ask that everyone *MUTE* on entry:
