Press release:  
The New World Symphony’s new campus is at the intersection of music, architecture, education, technology, and new media.  It is an exemplary public/private partnership that will change the urban structure of Miami Beach.   It’s educational and artistic programs will enrich the cultural life and impact the economic viability of the South Florida community.  On Wednesday morning, January 26, 2011, the new campus will be the focus of a panel discussion on the planning and architecture of arts facilities.  Preceding the panel discussion will be an in-depth interview with Frank Gehry about his designs and philosophy on designing such spaces.  The panelists include:
 
9:00 am        Welcome by Howard Herring who will introduce Liz Plater-Zyberk and Neisen Kasdin
 Interview with Frank Gehry, introduced by University of Miami Architecture Dean, Elizabeth Plater- Zyberk; 
 
10:00 am      Panel moderated by Reed Kroloff, Director of Cranbrook Institute.

Technology Information:
NWS will offer this webcast in the following manner:
  1. H.323 (Polycom, Tandberg, LifeSize) to a limited number of participants. RSVP required. Participants will need approximately 1.5Mbps to support HD content.
  2. MPEG2 Multicast at 5Mbps(rtp://233.78.112.200:5004), which can be viewed using the VLC client (www.videolan.org <http://www.videolan.org> ).   A test stream will be provided beginning Monday, January 24th. Connectivity testing beforehand is highly suggested.
  3. DVTS Multicast at 30Mbps(233.78.112.202:8000). Participants can download the DVTS client software here:http://www.sfc.wide.ad.jp/DVTS/software/win2000/ . A test stream will be provided beginning January 24th. Connectivity testing beforehand is again, highly suggested.
  4. Quicktime, Windows Media, and Real Media unicast streaming will also be provided for non-Internet2 connected participants, at speeds from 128-512Kbps. (for URL, check arts.internet2.edu early next week.)
