Thanks Aaron and Peter. I’ve updated my repository accordingly.

I have my project listed on GitHub for anyone interested: https://github.com/craigsimons/ndt-sonar

That's an accurate description of what happened and the licensing (at least for the Internet2 contributions)

I wrote the NDT server support for websockets as well as the first websocket client for Node.js
. Then I believe Aaron Brown took what I wrote and made it useful within a web browser context.

My intent was to offer what I wrote to the world under the same open-source license as NDT
The license seems to be summarizable as:
No warranties, no lawsuits, and please use the code as you see fit however you want for whatever you want.

Another example usage of the JS libraries can be found at

Hello,

At Simon Fraser University we use NDT as a client-facing bandwidth tester, mostly for on-campus connections. We recently closed down the service because it wasn’t worth dealing with client Java issues in order to get the test to run. With the latest Beta release, the JS/Websockets client seems to be exactly what we’re looking for. Using the NDTjs and NDTWrapper libraries, I developed a customized client for our puposes with an emphasis on responsive design and branding. However, I don’t know much about this project and I would like to give proper attribution. Would someone be able to answer the following:

- How are these libraries licensed? (I’m assuming Apache 2.0 but I wan’t to be sure)
- Who is the original author of the _javascript_ libraries?

For the curious, the client is running at sonar.sfu.ca

Craig
