So, I recompiled and:

[   11.728235] tcp_estats_mib_var: module license 'unspecified' taints kernel.
[   11.728243] Disabling lock debugging due to kernel taint
[   11.739764] tcp_estats netlink module initialized.

the modulke is being loaded, but still I can't see any entries in /proc
